LUC LABELLE,
M.Sc. For more than 20 years, Luc Labelle has effectively contributed to Quebec's economic and financial development. He is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Chambre de la sécurité financière, a self-regulatory organization supervised by the Autorité des marchés financiers. As CEO, he ensures that the Chamber's operations contribute to the realization of its mission to protect the public by maintaining discipline and overseeing the training and business conduct of the some 32,000 financial products and services professionals. These people work in the fields of financial planning, mutual funds, life and health insurance, group insurance and scholarship plans. He is the Chamber's spokesperson with the industry, governments and the media. Before joining the Chamber, Mr. Labelle was vice-president of development at Investissement Québec, president and general manager of the Conseil de la coopération du Québec and he headed a professional order too. He was also lecturer at the HEC Montréal (University of Montreal) for several years. Holder of a bachelor's degree in finance and a master's of science in management (M.Sc.) from the HEC, he won a top Canadian prize for the best business plan, the 1996 "Prix Relève d'Excellence HEC" and was awarded the title of "Professionnel de l'année” in economic development in 1999. Known as an excellent
communicator and sought-after guest speaker, as well as for his humanist
management approach, he is a source of reference in business association
management, organizational transformation and business development.
